Inclusive feminism

Hallelujah! As Liz Truss takes on the Prime Ministerial responsibilities in United Kingdom, she joins the rank of 27 other such special women in 24 countries who have been chosen to lead their countries around the globe.
Women leaders are here to stay!
We have Vice President of US, Kamala Harris leading the way. Then there are charismatic women like the New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern. Katarina Sakellaropoulou, President of Greece , Katarin Jakobsdottir, PM of Iceland and Sana Marin Finland’s PM, to name a few . These are women of true grit and substance, scripting the success story of their countries!
A global story
The African continent has been rewriting its own history with strong feminine presence in the power corridors. These include women like Prime Minister of Namibia, Saara Kuuogongelwa-Amadhila, Gabon’s PM and Sahle-Work Zewle, President of Ethiopia.
Of course South Asia has been a master at this game with Shaikha Hasina Wajed, Prime Minister of Bangladesh since 2009 and Nepal’s President Bidhya Devi Bhandari since 2015 , leading the way!
A collective feminine wisdom
Feminine strength cannot be measured in muscles and sinews. It’s that soft yet unwavering resilience that we have seen in our granmothers and mothers, a kind of collective wisdom that is borne out of part resourcefulness and part defiance, that has taken centuries to brew.
It is evident that these women of the new world have not only taken on the mantle of leader, but have the capacity and foresight to work hard and lend the much-needed stability to their respective countries by staying in power, by popular vote !

Truss who has inherited a troubled socio-economic legacy, has a long and arduous road ahead for her. She will have to deal with inflation touching an all-time high. As PM she will have to take a conservative haircut to stabilize the spiralling recession. Truss can certainly gain by taking a leaf out of the playbook of these contemporaries!

Gender equality ubiquitous and integral to society!
The United Nation Member States are routing for gender equality and female empowerment as part of the Sustainable Development Charter adopted in 2015. They have set 2030 as their deadline!
With so many women leaders coming into their own, it appears we are on track! Like the fresh aromatic seeds of roasted coffee beans percolating down to the last drop of water in your coffee machine, women are slowly but steadily becoming integral and indispensable to the world politics!
At this moment, witnessing this magical osmosis in society, celebrated Chilean author’s Isabelle Allende’s words come to my mind. Allende said, “I can promise you that women working together informed and educated – can bring peace and prosperity to this forsaken planet!”
I bet you would second that in a heartbeat!
